Lama Rapten returns to Tall Tree for another Weekend Meditation Retreat and Teachings on Oct 5th-6th, 2019. He will be offering meditations and teachings on the "Eight Verses For Training The Mind".

  • How do we liberate the mind and access greater compassion?

  • The answers may be discovered in the ancient texts written by the 11th century meditation master Langri Thangpa on mind training.

  • Lama Rapten will offer deeper exploration into these clear and practical teachings. These teachings are essential in connecting us to compassion and wisdom that can be challenging to access in present times. .

  • About Lama Rapten:
    Lama Rapten Tshering is Nalandabodhi Canada’s resident teacher. Lama Rapten was trained at Rumtek Monastery in Sikkim, India. In 1992 Lama Rapten was appointed senior Disciplinary Master of the monastery and served in this capacity for five years. He completed a three-year retreat at Pullahari Retreat
    Center in Kathmandu, Nepal.

    Lama Rapten moved to Canada in 2002. He teaches regularly at Maitrivana, Nalandabodhi Canada’s headquarters in Vancouver, and travels to Toronto, Montreal and Halifax to teach and guide students in their practice. Lama Rapten is a first class calligrapher and offers both Tibetan calligraphy and language instruction. Fluent in several languages, including Tibetan and Mandarin, Lama Rapten continues to improve his English with formal and informal studies.

We will:

Review and expand on Level 1 techniques

Use breathwork (pranayama) to support practice

Learn how contemplations help us embody our true nature

Develop compassion practices for yourself and others' benefit

Support your home practice
